StubHub Launches Access: D.C., a $100,000 Fund to Send Young Washingtonians to World-Class Events

The program will provide free tickets to youth groups in Washington, D.C., helping more young people experience the power of live sports, music and theater

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 21, 2026)—StubHub today announced the launch of Access: D.C., a new initiative committing $100,000 to provide free tickets to live events for youth groups across Washington, D.C.

Through Access: D.C., coaches, parents, teachers and community leaders can nominate any organized youth teams, clubs or groups serving young people across the District to receive free group tickets to live events, giving more kids the chance to experience the excitement of live sports, concerts, theater and other unforgettable events. The initiative is part of StubHub’s commitment to the idea that access to live events should not depend on where you live or your budget, and is designed to connect young people across the District with the moments that inspire lifelong fandom and lasting memories.

“Washington, D.C. is known for its iconic cultural events and world-class sports teams, which bring residents together for shared experiences while supporting the District’s economy,” said Becky Blatt, StubHub’s East Coast Cities Lead. “Our mission is to help people get into the events they love. With Access: D.C., we’re removing barriers for the next generation of fans and ensuring young Washingtonians can experience all that the District has to offer.”

How It Works

StubHub is currently accepting nominations for tickets through Access: D.C. Coaches, parents, teachers, community leaders and other adults will be able to nominate organized youth teams, clubs and groups in Washington, D.C. through www.stubhub.com/accessdc. To apply, simply share where the group is located and why they deserve to attend a live event.

Submissions will be evaluated based on published criteria, including community need, the team’s story, representation across sports and other activities, age groups and gender. Teams from underserved communities and under-resourced programs, where a trip to a professional sporting event or concert may be out of reach for many families, will be prioritized.

Nominations will be accepted on a rolling basis, with groups receiving tickets announced starting in spring and summer 2026. Selected groups will receive free tickets to live events in the D.C. area, ranging from sports events to concerts and theater performances.

StubHub is focused on expanding access to live events and helping more fans experience the moments that bring communities together. The vast majority of events on StubHub — 90% — include tickets available for under $100, while 60% have tickets for under $50.
