High school students and their teacher are headed to the World Cup in Inglewood.
StubHub recently surprised kids in California and New York — where StubHub is dual-headquartered — with tickets to FIFA World Cup 2026 matches, giving them the opportunity to experience the joy, excitement, and spirit of the tournament firsthand.
The tickets were awarded through StubHub’s Access initiative, which provides deserving youth teams, clubs, and community groups with opportunities to attend professional sporting events, concerts, and theater performances regardless of their families’ financial situation.
For all three groups, the opportunity represented more than a day at a World Cup match.
It was a chance to see the sport they love on its biggest stage, imagine new possibilities for their futures, and create lasting memories with teammates and friends.
In California, Access recipients included a High School Pre-Med Club in Inglewood who attended a match just blocks from their school. The experience offered a chance to see firsthand how healthcare professionals support athletes competing on the world’s biggest stage, including a meeting with FIFA’s Chief Medical Officer.
StubHub also sent an East Bay girls youth soccer team, the Diablo Valley Wolves, to a match in Northern California. The team had pooled funds together to cover the costs of the soccer season for some of its players and their siblings who otherwise would not have been able to afford to play.
In New York, StubHub selected 8- to 10-year-old athletes from a Title 1 school’s soccer team in Astoria, Queens, to experience the excitement of the tournament firsthand.
The FIFA World Cup is bringing millions of fans together, and StubHub is proud to help ensure fans of all ages can share in the joy and excitement of experiencing a major event.
StubHub’s Access initiative continues accepting applications on a rolling basis.
Nominations will be evaluated based on published criteria including geographic diversity across all regions of the state, community need, the team’s story, and representation across sports and activities, age groups, and gender.
StubHub’s Access initiative is just one way the company is helping fans attend live events. In North America, 90% of events on StubHub have tickets available for under $100, and 60% have tickets available for under $50.
