Your Last-Minute Guide to Halloween Plans (That Are Actually Worth It)

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, which means the pressure to have a good answer to “so what are you doing?” is at an all-time high. The good news: this weekend is legitimately stacked with live events worth going to, and last-minute tickets are more accessible than most people realize.

Here’s what’s worth your time — and how to get there.

The Concerts

Halloween weekend 2026 has one of the strongest live music lineups in recent memory, and it spans genres, cities, and venue sizes.

Phoebe Bridgers at Intuit Dome, Inglewood CA (Oct. 30, 31, Nov. 1). Three nights at one of the most visually striking arenas in the country from one of the most consistently excellent live performers working right now. Intuit Dome is a venue with clear sightlines throughout, which means there’s genuinely not a bad seat in the building for this run. Halloween night — Saturday the 31st — is the marquee ticket, but all three nights are worth it.

My Chemical Romance at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles (Oct. 30–31). MCR added two final Halloween weekend dates at the Hollywood Bowl, advertised as “Devil’s Night,” making them the first band to perform at the venue five times. A band defined by Halloween-adjacent aesthetic, playing their final Black Parade tour dates, on Halloween weekend, at the Hollywood Bowl. This is exactly what the holiday was made for.

Sombr at arena venues across the Midwest (Oct. 30–Nov. 1). Sombr’s You Are the Reason Tour plays the Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Friday, T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Saturday, and Target Center in Minneapolis on Sunday. Three nights of arena-scale shows in markets that don’t always get this level of routing.

Judah & the Lion on the East Coast (Oct. 30–Nov. 1). The Boys Are Back Tour hits Empire Live in Albany on Friday, The Fillmore Silver Spring in Maryland on Saturday, and Union Transfer in Philadelphia on Sunday. Theater-scale shows across three cities — the kind of tight room where Halloween energy hits differently than a massive arena.

The Cities

If you’re open to a Halloween weekend trip and haven’t booked yet, a few cities are worth knowing about.

New Orleans is the perennial answer for a reason. The Krewe of Boo parade rolls Saturday, October 24 from Faubourg Marigny through the French Quarter, but the French Quarter on Halloween night itself is a destination in its own right — no tickets required, costume mandatory.

Salem, Massachusetts goes hardest of anywhere in the country. Salem has 651 Halloween events, 75 ghost and haunted activities, and draws close to a million visitors every October. If you’ve never been for Halloween, it’s worth doing once. If you’re going this weekend, expect crowds — the first two weeks of October are calmer, but the final weekend is peak Salem.

Chicago pairs big-city nightlife with genuinely frightening haunted houses. Arts in the Dark returned for its 12th year on October 24 along Columbus Drive, and the city’s bar and music scene runs full speed through Halloween weekend.

New York City has the density to offer something for everyone. Trick-or-Streets returns for its biggest edition yet, with 160 car-free Open Streets and plazas across all five boroughs hosting free Halloween and fall celebrations throughout October. Queens’ Bohemian Hall Beer Garden hosts the Silent Scream Halloween Silent Disco from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on October 31.

A Note on Last-Minute Tickets

Halloween is one of the calendar’s most predictable demand spikes, but it’s also a weekend where last-minute opportunity exists if you know where to look. A few things worth knowing:

Multi-night runs — like Phoebe Bridgers at Intuit Dome or Malcolm Todd at the Greek — mean more total inventory than a single show, and later nights in a run frequently surface better resale availability as the weekend approaches. Friday October 30 listings for three-night runs often move differently than Saturday October 31, when everyone wants to be out.

For events that haven’t sold out — theater shows, club nights, regional concerts — the 48-hour window before showtime is when sellers who can’t make it push prices down to move inventory. StubHub’s all-in pricing shows the real total upfront so you’re comparing actual costs rather than face values that change at checkout.

If you’re buying today or tomorrow, prioritize listings with instant mobile transfer. Physical delivery doesn’t work for same-day or next-day events, and mobile-only entry is now standard at most major venues.

If You’re Staying In Your City

Not every Halloween plan requires a concert ticket or a flight. A few things that work just as well closer to home:

Costume-friendly shows at local clubs and theaters are running in virtually every major market this weekend. Search your city’s events for themed nights — tribute concerts, horror score performances, Halloween DJ sets, and genre-specific costume balls all operate at the local level and typically have tickets available right up to doors.

Family-friendly daytime options — costume parades, orchestra Halloween matinées, themed events at parks and museums — mostly slot into Saturday afternoon, leaving the evening free for adult plans.

Quick Answers

Is it too late to find tickets for Halloween weekend?
It depends on the show. Sold-out arena events are on resale and prices reflect the demand. But there’s real inventory still available across the weekend — particularly for multi-night runs, theater-scale shows, and events in markets with lighter demand. Check StubHub’s Halloween events section for what’s still available near you.

What should I know about buying last-minute?
Confirm the delivery method is instant mobile transfer before you buy. Check the all-in price at checkout rather than the listed face value. And for any show tonight or tomorrow, make sure the venue accepts mobile tickets — most major venues are mobile-only, but it’s worth confirming for smaller clubs and theaters.

Is Saturday October 31 the best night, or should I look at Friday or Sunday?
Saturday carries the highest demand and the highest prices across almost every market. Friday October 30 and Sunday November 1 frequently have better availability and more accessible pricing — and for multi-night tours, the full-run experience is often better than a single night anyway.
