Exclusive collaboration with Neon Ichiban gives every StubHub ticket buyer a free digital copy of Absolute Batman #1, with series writer Scott Snyder appearing at the convention

StubHub today announced a new partnership with Los Angeles Comic Con, L.A.’s largest event for comics, gaming, sci-fi, anime, and pop culture, naming StubHub an official distribution partner for the convention. As part of the announcement, StubHub is unveiling an exclusive collaboration with digital comics platform Neon Ichiban: every ticket purchased through StubHub now includes a free digital copy of Absolute Batman #1.
With Absolute Batman writer Scott Snyder scheduled to appear at this year’s convention, StubHub is adding a direct thematic tie-in between the giveaway and the fan experience.
“Partnering with StubHub is a great way for their loyal users to discover Los Angeles Comic Con and receive an exciting offer tied to attending,” said Chris DeMoulin, CEO/GM of Los Angeles Comic Con parent company Comikaze Entertainment Inc. “StubHub is a great resource for fans of all kinds of events, and we believe this unique Neon Ichiban digital Absolute Batman #1 give-away is a terrific opportunity for more Angelinos and nerd Con fans everywhere to discover and experience L.A. Comic Con.”
Through Open Distribution, StubHub serves as a marketplace engine for L.A. Comic Con while the convention retains full ownership of its ticketing operations and pricing. StubHub adds reach, marketing support, and buyer experience on top of the systems L.A. Comic Con already runs.
“Bundling a single-issue comic like Absolute Batman #1 with a ticket has not been done before at this scale,” said Larry Settembrini, Director of Global Conventions Partnerships at StubHub. “Beyond giving fans an additional safe, verified way to buy and sell L.A. Comic Con tickets, our goal was to pack as much value into this partnership as we could. L.A. Comic Con can run the show they’ve always run, and we can bring a new audience, new marketing channels, and something extra for attendees, compliments of Neon Ichiban.”

The partnership builds on StubHub’s growing Open Distribution footprint across conventions and pop culture events, following the company’s recently announced partnership with ComplexCon.
“A ticket gets you into the show. We wanted it to get you into a story, too,” said David Steinberger, co-founder and CEO, Neon Ichiban. “With this L.A. Comic Con special offer, every fan who buys tickets through StubHub walks in with Absolute Batman #1 already in their collection, and a chance to meet the writer who made it.”
Tickets for L.A. Comic Con are available now at stubhub.com, with instructions on how to download the Absolute Batman #1 digital comic included in a confirmation email.
